Ian & The Bay Horse Velo Complete the Fred Whitton Challenge!

Congratulations to partner Ian Lane and the Bay Horse Velo (BHV) on completing the Fred Whitton Cycling Challenge at the weekend. The BHV raised a staggering £13,955 for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of former team member Kevin Dobson.

The gruelling 112 mile race which takes place in the Lake District involves 13,000ft of climbing (7 major climbs) with the hardest climb of Hardknott pass 100 miles in to the challenge.

Queensway partner Ian Lane said “The day started at 5am with a sportsman’s breakfast before we began riding at 7am. I was hoping to beat my time from last year but due to an unfortunate incident with my bike I ended up shopping for bike parks in Keswick half way through the race! Although I didn’t beat my time I completed the race in 7 hours 28 minutes, and it was completely worth it for the amount of money the team raised for Macmillan.”
