Local Dental Committee appoints Queensway dentists
Aug 14, 2012

Following the recent Local Dental Committee (LDC) elections, Queensway dentist Dr Paul Howlett has been appointed to the position of Treasurer in the committee executive.
The LDC aims to bridge the gap between NHS dentists and other organisations e.g. PCTs and the NHS. They strive to represent dentists’ interests during the development of local policies and strategies and also keep dentists informed of the important issues facing them both locally and nationally. Dr Howlett has been a member of the Tees LDC representing North Tees for the last three years.
His new role is in addition to his usual committee role and gives him the responsibility for managing the LDC funds and ensuring they are utilised appropriately and in an effective manner. He is also involved in the financial planning of the organisation and tries to ensure the LDC levy is collected from practitioners as intended.
Dr Will Carter has also been elected as the Hartlepool representative for the LDC.
