Teesside Clinic Saves Face with new accreditation
Apr 13, 2015

Queensway Skin Clinic has become one of the first in the UK to be officially accredited as safe and qualified to carry out non-surgical cosmetic treatments such as dermal fillers.
Legally, anyone in the UK can carry out these kinds of treatments and the industry has come under huge pressure to provide protection for patients from unqualified and unregistered practitioners. Save Face is the first organisation in the UK to provide a register of accredited practitioners – all of which have been visited and assessed for professionalism, qualifications and safety to give patients peace of mind when booking treatments.
Queensway Skin Clinic has become the first clinic and Dr Rebecca Hierons the first practitioner in Teesside to become accredited by Save Face. The clinic offers a range of different treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections, medical skin needling and dermal fillers.
Dr Rebecca Hierons said: “It is hugely important to have regulation in the non-surgical cosmetic treatment market as it will separate the qualified practitioners from those who are cutting corners and are not following correct procedures. We need to educate the general public about the risks of these treatments and enable them to make an informed and confident decision as to whether or not to proceed”.
“Being accredited by Save Face is something that I am proud of. The Save Face team are extremely helpful and their protocols and assessments are exceptionally thorough, which further qualifies that I am performing to the highest of standards. As practitioners it is our obligation to stand up and protect our clients, and with Save Face we can do this.”
Ashton Collins, Director of Save Face, said: “The Save Face register is more than just a clinic finder. The register is an essential tool for consumers who are considering non-invasive cosmetic treatment and are concerned with safety. Each clinic and individual practitioner accredited has been assessed through a rigorous qualifying process that is approved and over-seen by clinical experts. Their qualifications, training and insurance have been thoroughly checked and measured against a robust and transparent set of standards to ensure they are safe. Protecting the consumers is very important to us and we are proud to be able to offer this register of accredited practitioners.”
The Save Face register is only open to registered doctors, dentists and nurses who can demonstrate that they are insured and have received certified training. All premises are inspected. Practitioners must operate to best practice standards and have policies and procedures in place that demonstrate this. Save Face works with practitioners to help develop policies and improve standards across the industry.
Save Face also offers patients independent and unbiased information about non-surgical cosmetic treatments on its website www.saveface.co.uk.
