Mégan Waggott

Following a degree in journalism, Mégan has worked in the PR and communications industry for 15 years and has both managed and supported a number of successful results-driven PR campaigns for a broad range of clients including Berghaus, Sunderland City Council, Redcar & Cleveland College and Age UK North Tyneside. She learned a lot during her time in an agency but has always wanted to work in-house for an organisation such as Queensway. She joined the team in December 2016.

As a Marketing Coordinator, Megan’s role involves planning the marketing strategy, implementing campaigns, supporting digital and print advertising and organising events for our patients.

What do you enjoy most about working for Queensway?

The people I work with – there’s so many different personalities but there’s a real sense of team spirit and everybody is really friendly. I also enjoy the variety in my role as no two days are the same.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?

In the Marketing Office I share with Marketing Coordinator, Coral but my role can mean I’m hopping from one building to the next to film patients or take a photo for our social media pages – I’ll be the one behind the camera (where I prefer) or with a note pad and pen in my hand!

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

A big part of my job is contacting patients at the end of their treatment to see if they would be happy to provide a testimonial and it’s always great to speak to patients who are really pleased with their new smile. I also get a buzz whenever Queensway news has been picked up in the press.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?

Weekends are for spending time with my partner, taking our two girls on day trips and eating in restaurants that service chicken nuggets or pizza!

In my spare time I also run my own online illustration business, Lavender Lane which can keep me busy, especially during wedding season or over the Christmas period.

What makes you smile?

Seeing my daughters laugh and play with each other.
