Laura McHugh

Laura started working part time in the betting industry when she was at university and stayed on afterwards, progressing to store manager. She spent 20 years working in the shop, at the football ground and at the racecourses before leaving to join Queensway.

I started working at Queensway in January 2018

What do you enjoy most about working for Queensway?

I love working with the Patient Support Team, they’re like family now. I enjoy working for a company that values their team members, rewarding them and listening, everyone is so friendly and helpful. Also, no two days are the same.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?

In the Patient Support Hub, answering calls and live chats.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Following a patient’s journey from an initial enquiry to leaving the practice with the smile they deserve, or making a difference when a patient calls.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?

Spending time with my children, at the skate park or the cinema, and eating out. Also, getting together with my family, or my husband’s family in Ireland.

What makes you smile?

Seeing my family happy, especially my girls. Holidaying in Ireland and enjoying a good book.
